Meet in front of Trek Store
Saturday Donut Ride: appx 50 miles, average pace 17+ mph over route with segments running 19+. Three sprints with regroup. NOT A CLUB RIDE - and this is a DROP RIDE (though we generally try to hold the group together).
Bellingham cycling culture encourages mentorship, courtesy and safety! Make these a priority on this ride.
Departs from Trek Bellingham, 7:30 am October through February, and 7 am March through September. Goes to Birch Bay and back. This ride has been a Bellingham tradition forever. Every week of the year!!
Local lore has it that this ride used to actually include eating donuts, but the donut shop closed. Better bring your own donut in your jersey.
Meet in front of Fairhaven Bikes
32-mile route down Chuckanut Drive and back via Lake Samish.
The Rabbit Ride departs from in front of Fairhaven Bikes at 1108 11th St, Bellingham. Important: Fairhaven Bikes does not organize the ride, nor do they information about it. It‘s just the rally point for the start of the ride.
The Rabbit Ride has been going on every Sunday since 2011. Start time 8 a.m. during daylight savings time - roughly March through October - and at 8:30 a.m. during standard time. Riders who ride slower than 16 mph should be ready to ride right on time.
Small groups of similarly-paced riders begin leaving at the start time, with faster groups departing every 5 minutes thereafter.
When a faster group passes yours, you have the opportunity to try to jump on a wheel and hang on, or stay with your group. This is intended to be a fitness ride and you’re encouraged to push yourself.
Like the Hot Laps and the Donut Ride, these are self-organized (or disorganized) rides that are managed by the people that show up to ride.
Try to bring friends or encourage them to show up. Sometimes it might be two people, especially if the weather is bad. When the weather is good, it could be dozens.
Whatcom Community College North Parking Lot
For this skill and ability building ride, riders new to group riding are encouraged to start attending this ride early in the season, which typically begins in late March or early April.
During April and May we "Ramp-up" to better group riding skills. In June and beyond, there is more riding and less instruction.
As the season proceeds, riders become more skilled and the pace often picks up a little in each group. If you want to join this ride later in the season, it‘s a good idea to contact the ride leader - we can try to hook you up with a group-ride buddy to get you caught up.
Please read the detailed description if you are not familiar with this ride.
